Christian Political Engagement

In Spring 2024, I taught a nine-week class on Christian political engagement. My background working on campaigns and in both the legislative and executive branches of government informed the class, even as the focus was specifically on how Christians can faithfully engage in the political process.

The class took place at Hinson Baptist Church, a church that had already received solid teaching on the Biblical role of government in several prior classes and sermon series. For this reason, this class was meant as a “201”-level class, with a focus on:

  • “Turning the temperature down” in our current political climate,

  • How history has shaped the church’s thinking on political engagement, and

  • How our Christian identity should shape our public engagement.

The class recordings can be found below!
